The Founder Comms Playbook: what 87 tweets from two crypto founders reveal

Independent research by Okikiola Bosun-Kwadjo · September 2025 · All tweets cited are public

Crypto founders are their project's primary communication channel. To understand what the best ones actually do, I read and categorized every tweet from two founders with very different styles: Dith of Gigaverse (37 tweets) and Lauris of Multiplier (50+ tweets). The patterns below are what fell out, along with a playbook any founder or comms team can run.

Part one: Dith (Gigaverse)

1. Personal tweets

The birth of his second son. Leading a gaming squad at 16. These humanize "Dith" and build relatability while signaling leadership, care, and accountability. He also used one to announce he'd be away for a few days, folding a logistics update into a human moment.

2. Product teasers and updates

The ROM teaser, the Auctioneer mechanics. These keep the community engaged and expectant around milestones, building anticipation before launches rather than after them.

3. Community highlights

Retweeting a fan video made by a community member celebrates grassroots contribution and reinforces the notion that Gigaverse is a movement, not just a game.

4. Narrative setting and thought leadership

When other founders called Gigaverse "too simple," Dith turned the criticism into a design philosophy, and paired it with forward-looking claims like "agents are the future." Criticism handled creatively becomes differentiation.

5. Numbers and proof of traction

Metrics like $500K revenue and 500K trades, shared openly. Legitimacy and momentum, communicated to community, competitors, and investors at once.

6. Recruitment and team building

Hiring announcements show the company's pull for talent, attract more of it, add credibility, and give new hires publicity on day one.

7. Bull posting

Culture building and entertainment. Everyone likes a bit of bull and shitposting, and it keeps the founder from reading as an over-serious android.

Timing and cadence: multiple tweets most days, weekends included. Short meme-style posts mixed with essay-length explanations. Announcements timed precisely to events. Tone: professional and cheeky, unmistakably a founder's voice rather than a third party's, explaining not just what is happening but why, with numbers shared openly and a bullish swagger.

Part two: Lauris (Multiplier)

1. Philosophical posts and aura farming

"The only people who are worthy of respect are those who are willing to live or die by the sword." Weekend reflections about avoiding tilt. These establish a mythic founder voice: strength, conviction, and product-building tied to timeless struggles.

2. Product shaping and explainers

"The simplest way to explain Multiplier is that it's an opinionated exchange dressed as a series of games." Sticky, repeatable mental hooks that compress a complex product into analogies the audience can pass on intact.

3. Narrative and thought leadership

"Embedded hypergamblification > embedded finance." Coining terminology makes the narrative his intellectual property. References to Rousseau and Baudrillard position him as a visionary rather than an operator.

4. Community and credibility

Shoutouts to the Alchemy team, to Nigel Eccles coming onboard. Social proof through association with respected builders and investors, plus acknowledgment of users engaging with the product.

5. Personal storytelling

"3 months ago I was literally homeless and had to borrow $10." "When I graduated from LSE: either a 1bn+ company or surfing instructor." Resilience and vulnerability that create emotional buy-in.

6. Absurdist humor

"This is not a joke I may get a castle in my possession." Keeps the feed playful and unpredictable, and farms engagement from CT culture.

7. Industry commentary

"People complaining about talent in crypto are probably exposed to bad talent." Sharp observation on macro shifts, regulatory arbitrage, and game theory establishes credibility beyond his own product.

Timing and cadence: multiple tweets daily including weekends, with product storytelling peaking around launch and reflection-heavy posts on weekends. Tone: mythic and literary, punchy binaries, vulnerable yet authoritative, meme-aware, with the product always explained in metaphors people can repeat.

The playbook

  1. Share personal news. A lesson learned, a past accomplishment, a life event. It builds the founder's image and relatability, and lands best when it connects to something happening now.
  2. Tease before launch, deep-dive when live. Maintain suspense, then give clarity unprompted rather than waiting for the community to demand it. Works best close to real updates, not as a repeated bull post for weeks.
  3. Spotlight community contributors. Creatives and builders in your corner of CT. It signals appreciation and belonging, and turns the project into a movement.
  4. Position as a thought leader. Share beliefs on industry trends and explain design choices from experience. Do it regularly and tie it to what's trending.
  5. Publish proof and numbers. Traction shared with good storytelling energizes the community and attracts investors simultaneously.
  6. Endorse every hire publicly. It attracts talent, makes new hires feel valued, and adds credibility.
  7. Bull post on schedule. Weekly absurdity keeps the feed fun and the engagement flowing.
  8. Coin your own concepts early. Naming the narrative gives you narrative power. One or two sticky analogies make the vision memorable and defensible.
  9. Use timing strategically. Philosophy on weekends, product around launches, humor throughout.
